Fightin Phils Comeback Attempt Falls Short

Reading Fightin Phils News Release


Reading, Pa - The Fisher Cats scored seven runs between in the 3rd and 4th inning against *Franklyn Kilome *and built a six run lead against the Fightin Phils. Reading scored four unanswered runs but we unable to complete the comeback against New Hampshire and fell to the Fisher Cats 8-6.

*Odubel Herrera *joined the Fightin Phils on a rehab assignment and made an instant impact for the Fightin Phils. After singling in the first, the Phillies center fielder homered to dead center field to put Reading up 2-0. The lead did not hold, the Fisher Cats responded for four runs in the top of the 3rd inning on RBI singles by Richard Urena and Emilio Guerrero to take a 4-2 lead.

New Hampshire got three more runs in the 4th on a RBI double by Reese McGuire to take a 7-2 lead heading into the 5th. Trailing by five, the Fightin Phils offense responded. *Zach Coppola *led off with a double, *Herrera *walked and *Jiandido Tromp *cut the lead to two with a opposite field home run to make it 7-5.

*Tromp *plated his forth run of the game in the 6th driving in *Coppola *to cut the New Hampshire lead to one. Unfortunately the comeback ended there for Reading. The Fisher Cats added one more run in the 7th to take an 8-2 lead and take the series from the Fightin Phils.

Reading closes out the season with four games in Trenton, from Friday-Monday. *America's Classic Ballpark is proud to be a part of Pennsylvania's Americana Region.
