Des Moines, Iowa- The Iowa Energy announced today that they have acquired the rights to Erie Bayhawks' guard Jordan Sibert and the team's 2017 NBA D-League third-round draft pick in exchange for guard Kalin Lucas.
The previously announced trade between the Energy and Bayhawks was rescinded and the Bayhawks retain guard Lewis Jackson. The rescinded trade was first announced on Dec. 19.
Sibert (6-4, 187, Dayton), last appeared for Erie during the 2015-16 season, where he started in 21 games and averaged 13.1 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.3 apg. Sibert has spent the 2016-17 with P.A.O.K. BC, located in Thessaloniki, Greece. In 20 games, the guard has averaged 10 ppg and 2.4 rpg.
A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Sibert was the 2010 Gatorade Player of the Year in Ohio, joining a list of players including: C.J. McCollum, O.J. Mayo and Lebron James. Sibert ranked as the No. 39 recruit by Rivals.com as a high school senior.
After playing two seasons at Ohio State University, Sibert transferred to Dayton University, where he led the program during two memorable seasons.
Sibert guided the team to consecutive NCAA tournament berths during his two-year career as a Flyer, including an Elite Eight run in 2014 and a Sweet Sixteen berth in 2015.
The team's leading scorer as a junior and senior, Sibert remains just one of two transfers to score over 1,000 points in their Dayton career.
