Westchester Knicks News Release
WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, announced today that guard Chasson Randle has signed a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. Randle is the NBA D-League's seventh overall GATORADE Call-Up this season and joins Langston Galloway (called up to the New York Knicks on Jan. 7, 2015), Thanasis Antetokounmpo (called up to the New York Knicks on Jan. 29, 2016), and Jimmer Fredette (called up to the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 10, 2015 and to the New York Knicks on Feb. 22, 2016) as the fourth player in team history to sign with an NBA team.
Randle (6-2, 185) joined Westchester as an affiliate player after attending training camp with the New York Knicks. He appeared in three preseason games for New York, averaging 7.7 points over 15.7 minutes per game before suffering an orbital fracture injury.
In 19 games for Westchester, Randle averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists over 32.1 minutes per game, shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from three-point range. He was named the NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Dec. 12 through Sunday, Dec. 18, the first honor for Westchester this season and the second-ever in team history.
