Cleveland Charge News Release

The Canton Charge (12-9), powered by the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, saw their six-game win streak come to an end at the hands of the Santa Cruz Warriors (12-10), 109-105, at the Kaiser Permanente Arena on Wednesday night.

Trailing 81-65 at the 2:25 mark in the third quarter, the Warriors went on a 29-3 run over a span of 9:02 to lead 94-84, their first advantage since before midway in the first period. Canton would then claw back, eventually tying the game at 101-101 on a Quinn Cook triple with 49.8 seconds left, but the Warriors' Alex Hamilton knifed through the lane for a layup on the ensuing possession for the hosts to regain the lead for good.

Roosevelt Jones had a career-high night in points at the half, finishing with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds to go along with seven assists and two steals in 42 minutes. Quinn Cook finished with 25 points, six rebounds and six assists in 41 minutes. Chris Evans added 19 points and two steals in 38 minutes. Eric Moreland posted a double-double himself of 10 points and 10 boards with a Charge team season-high six blocks in 31 minutes. John Holland rounded out all five starters in double figures with 18 points and three steals in 40 minutes. Mike Dunigan came off the bench to add 12 points and two steals in 17 minutes.

Hamilton paced the Warriors with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting in 24 minutes off the bench. Phil Pressey scored 18 points with two steals in 31 minutes. The Santa Cruz bench outscored Canton's reserves 57-12.
