AUSTIN, Texas- The Austin Spurs (15-17), presented by SWBC, defeated the Texas Legends (14-17),115-109, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Thursday morning. The team hosted more than 5,000 students for College and Career Readiness Day.

Patricio Garino led Austin with 26 points (9-13 FG, 1-1 3P, 7-8 F) and 2 blocked shots in 32 minutes, while Bryn Forbes finished with 22 points and 4 assists in 36 minutes. Hollis Thompson contributed a double-double with 19 points (5-10 FG, 8-8 FT) and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes. Cory Jefferson recorded his twelfth double-double of the season with 18 points (7-10 FG,1-2 3P, 3-4 FT) and 14 rebounds in 29 minutes, just days after being selected to play in the NBA D-League All-Star Game.

After being down by as many as 28 points in the first half, the Spurs battled back, bringing the game within 2 points at the end of the third quarter, highlighted by Forbes' 15 points. Garino took the lead for Austin for the first time since the first quarter, with 9:07 remaining in the game. With five lead changes and four times tied in the fourth, the Spurs sealed the win.

For the Legends, Andre Dawkins finished with 26 points and 2 rebounds in 41 minutes, while Manny Harris chipped in with 21 points and 3 rebounds in 38 minutes.
