Stampede Re-Acquire Jack Cooley

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Stampede announced today that the team has re-acquired forward Jack Cooley. The Stampede held his returning player rights. In a subsequent move, the team has waived guard Eric Atkins. Following the moves, Idaho's roster now stands at 12 players (not including Phil Pressey who was called-up the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 4).

Cooley (6-9, 246, Notre Dame) appeared in 20 games for the Stampede last season, averaging 16.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.3 blocks in 30.8 minutes of action. On March 13, he set a new D-League single-game record by grabbing 29 rebounds vs. Los Angeles D-Fenders, adding 27 points while going 11-of-14 from the floor (78.6 percent). He recorded 13 double-doubles in the 2014-15 season, including a streak of four straight games of 10-plus points and 10-plus rebounds. He scored in double figures on 17 occasions and recorded 20-or-more points in six games.

Cooley saw action in 16 games for the Utah Jazz during the 2014-15 campaign after being called up from the Stampede. He appeared in two preseason games for the Jazz this year, averaging 1.5 rebounds in 3.3 minutes of action. He was waived by Utah on Oct. 13. He was then signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 17. Cooley appeared in one preseason game for the Cavaliers, recording a game-high 15 rebounds in 18 minutes of action. He was waived on Oct. 23.
