Marianna Tolo to Undergo ACL Reconstruction Surgery
August 28, 2015 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)
Los Angeles Sparks News Release
LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles Sparks center Marianna Tolo will undergo ACL reconstruction surgery in her left knee, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Penny Toler. A timetable for her return will be evaluated following surgery.
"Our immediate concern is for Marianna's health and recovery," said Toler. "Since joining the Sparks this season, she has made an impact on the court and in the locker room with her work ethic and positive attitude. While she will be missed, what's most important is supporting her through surgery and rehab."
Tolo suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Sparks win at Indiana on August 26 and returned to Los Angeles the following day to be evaluated by team physicians at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Center.
The Sparks take on the Shock in Tulsa tonight before returning home for the #WeAreWomen game on 8.30.15 vs. San Antonio at 4:00 pm at STAPLES Center.
