Tacoma Rainiers News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Oklahoma City Dodgers posted a 2-1 walk-off win over the Tacoma Rainiers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Monday night to take a 2-1 series lead.

The contest was scoreless going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but a leadoff single from Jose Peraza and a steal of second base set up Andy Wilkins for an RBI single that would give the Dodgers a late 1-0 lead.

Down to their final strike in the top of the ninth inning, Jabari Blash lined a solo home run over the center field wall for the Rainiers second hit of the night, tying the game at 1-1. Blash now has a PCL-leading 12 home runs since the all-star break, and his 27 RBI during that span are the second most in the circuit.

Jose Ramirez took over in the ninth inning for the Rainiers, and allowed a soft leadoff single to Jose Tabata. Pinch runner Elliot Johnson replaced Tabata and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt from O'Koyea Dickson. Ramirez got Shawn Zarraga to strike out swinging before Darnell Sweeny dropped the game-winning RBI single into right field.

Starting pitchers Forrest Snow and Eric Surkamp combined to work 12.0 innings of shutout ball, while allowing just six hits. Snow struck out two and issued one walk while not factoring into the decision.

Patrick Brady recorded Tacoma's first hit with a double in the sixth inning. Blash's solo home run was the only other base knock for the Rainiers, who are now hitting .141 (12x85) in the series.

Lucas Luetge, recently activated off the disabled list, worked a perfect sixth inning for Tacoma before being relieved by Logan Bawcom, who allowed one run in 2.0 innings of work off three hits.

Left-hander Roenis Elias (3-2, 7.95) will take the mound for the Rainiers (57-66) as they close out their series with the Dodgers (74-48) tomorrow, August 18. Oklahoma City is expected to start right-hander Zach Lee (9-4, 2.45). First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
