BAKERSFIELD, July 10, 2015 - A total of 10 former Jam players, in addition to the four players on the Phoenix Suns roster, will participate at the 2015 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, highlighted by 2014-15 Jam standouts Joe Jackson, Xavier Munford, Casey Prather and Jamil Wilson. The event will run from July 10-20 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Las Vegas. The 24-team field are set to compete in an 11-day, 67-game tournament-style schedule and culminated with a Championship game.
Jackson and Prather were both named to the NBA D-League Select Team. Jackson appeared in 38 games for the Jam last season, posting averages of 13.9 points, 4.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 24.8 minutes. He was named 2015 NBA D-League Most Improved Player while also earning All-NBA D-League Defensive Second Team honors. In 46 games with Bakersfield, Prather averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 25.3 minutes.
Munford will be playing for the Los Angeles Lakers Summer League team. In 48 appearances with Bakersfield, he averaged 10.8 points, 2.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes.
Wilson will be joining the Washington Wizards Summer League team. He suited up in 41 games for the Jam last year, averaging 10.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 block in 25.2 minutes.
Other Jam alumni playing at the Las Vegas Summer League include: Dwight Buycks (Los Angeles Lakers), Ian Clark (Denver Nuggets), Jared Cunningham (Utah Jazz), Stephen Dennis (Portland Trailblazers), Diante Garrett (Chicago Bulls; with Los Angeles Clippers at Orlando PRO Summer League) and Damion James (Washington Wizards). Additionally, James Nunnally participated in the Orlando PRO Summer League with the Indiana Pacers this past week.
Jonathan Mak, Jam's Assistant Athletic Trainer for the past two seasons, will be part of the Athletic Training staff for the NBA D-League Select Team.
NBA TV will televise all 67 NBA Summer League games from Las Vegas. Fans again will be able to watch games live on NBA.com and via the NBA Game Time App.
