South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays extended their record winning streak to 21 contests, the second longest streak in North American professional hockey, with tilts against the Indy Fuel and Cincinnati Cyclones at the North Charleston Coliseum for a week record of 2-0-0-0 and improved their overall record to 39-18-1-6.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday against the Cyclones. Stingrays grabbed three one-goal leads, but the Cyclones fought back to tie each time until taking a 4-3 lead midway through the third period. With Jakaitis pulled and on the power play, forward Caleb Herbert buried the game-tying goal with 1:12 to play.
The Cyclones were awarded a power play in overtime, but the Stingrays successfully dissolved the 4-on-3 opportunity to force a shootout. Stingrays forward Joe Devin scored the in the first round of the breakaway contest, but the Cyclones made it 1-1 in the fourth round. Herbert provided the game-winning heroics in the bottom of the fifth round to reward the Stingrays with a 5-4 win. Forward Andrew Rowe netted a goal and two assists and forward Wayne Simpson acquired three assists. With the win, Jakaitis picked up his 13th consecutive victory, tying the ECHL record set by Roanoke's Daniel Berthiaume in 1994-95.
