CEDAR PARK, March 1, 2015 - The Westchester Knicks (9-28), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, fell to the Austin Spurs (28-10 ) in a 99-93 loss to wrap up the cross-country road trip.

Playing their third road game in five days, Westchester held the league-leading Austin Spurs to just 20 points in the first quarter. The Knicks out-rebounded the Spurs 13-9; Ben Strong racking up five boards with Darnell Jackson leading scorers with nine points in the first twelve minutes.

Austin gave up twelve points to Westchester with seven turnovers in the second quarter, the Spurs unable to catch up to the Knicks. At the half, Westchester led in all scoring percentages including field goals, three pointers, and free throws.

The game shifted in Austin's favor after the first half. Westchester's nine point lead was lost in the third by a 36 point quarter from the Spurs, the Knicks only managing 13 points from 4-of-26 shooting.

Westchester put in a good fight in the end, winning the final quarter 28-20, but ultimately were unable to recover from the dismal third quarter. They never regained the lead, falling to the Spurs 99-93.

Darnell Jackson continued to pace Westchester, netting 23 points, adding six rebounds and five assists. Ben Strong continued his streak of double-doubles, hitting 16 points and 12 rebounds. Andre Barrett provided 19 points with four assists; Trey Gilder just missing a double-double posting 18 points and nine rebounds. Doron Lamb contributed 10 points and six assists, giving all five starters double digit scores.

For Austin, Erik Murphy was the high scorer with 21 points, snagging a double-double with 11 rebounds. Kyle Anderson just missed a double-double, ending with 16 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Jonathan Simmons provided 20 points.

The Westchester Knicks return home to the Westchester County Center on Friday, March 6 to face the Maine Red Claws, the Boston Celtics' affiliate. The game will be broadcast live on MSG, YouTube, and AM 1230 WFAS at 7:00 p.m. ET.
