Celtics Recall Powell, Smart and Young from Maine Red Claws

BOSTON - The Boston Celtics announced today that they have recalled rookies Dwight Powell, Marcus Smart and James Young from the Maine Red Claws.

In the Red Claws 110-106 win over Fort Wayne on Thursday, Powell recorded 21 points on 9-14 (.642) shooting from the field, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 26 minutes. In two appearances with the team this season, he is averaging 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in 33.5 minutes per game.

In his first appearance with the Red Claws this season, Marcus Smart tallied six points, five rebounds, seven assists, four steals and one block in 29 minutes of action. Smart's six points all came in the final minute to help the team seal the win.

James Young scored a game-high 31 points, including shooting 7-10 (.700) from beyond the arc, pulled down nine rebounds, had three assists, three steals and one block in 37 minutes. He has appeared in three contests with the team this season and is averaging 24.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block in 35.7 minutes per game over that span. On the season, Young is shooting 43.3 percent (13-30) from long range for the Red Claws.
