Today's Game
Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in game one of a four-game set from Coca-Cola Field (7:05). The Herd is coming off a 3-5 roadtrip to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Pawtucket. Tonight opens up an 8-game homestand against the IL South as Durham also comes to town Friday for a four-game set.
vs. the Braves
This is the first time this season that the Bisons will face off with the Braves. Last season, the Bisons went 6-2 against the Braves, outscoring them 40-25 in eight games. All time against Gwinnett, the Herd is 19-13 with an 11-5 record at Coca-Cola Field.
Today's Starter
RHP TODD REDMOND makes his third start as a Bison today. The veteran struck out seven in only four innings of work in a loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last Tuesday. Redmond's victory with the Herd came in a 2.1-inning relief outing on May 25. In between those two games, Redmond was with the Blue Jays and was 0-1 with a 5.79ERA.
Hot Bat
OF RICARDO NANITA brings a five-game hit streak into tonight's action. Since June 8, the outfielder is hitting .333 (6-18) with two doubles, two runs scored and five RBI. Nanita has driven in a run in four of his last five starts.
Mauro Hits it Far-O
INF MAURO GOMEZ leads the International League with 18 home runs this season. The slugger has hit 11 homers and 22 RBI in 19 games since May 26. Gomez is also third in the IL in slugging percentage (.585) and 9th in total bases (121).
Stil getting it done
RHP JOHN STILSON has allowed just one run in eight outings and 11.2 innings with the Bisons. The righty has not given up more than one hit in any appearance, holding opponents to a .108 average against. Opponents are also hitless in 11 at-bats with runners in scoring position.

INF JIM NEGRYCH leads the Herd with a .344 batting average (3rd in the IL)...INF ANDY LaROCHE was outrighted from Toronto yesterday and went 1-3 in his return to the Bisons...INF LUIS JIMENEZ is 4th in the IL in average and slugging pct (.582) and 5th in on-base pct. (.416).
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (32-36) won their fifth straight game with a 7-2 victory in Texas yesterday, completing the series sweep. INF ADAM LIND, OF COLBY RASMUS and INF J.P. ARENCIBIA all went yard yesterday. The Jays return home tonight to face the Rockies (7:07 p.m.).
