Portland Winterhawks News Release
The 2013 NHL Entry Draft will take place on Sunday, June 30 beginning at Noon, and Winterhawks fans are invited to the team's official draft party at GameTime in Lake Oswego. GameTime, an all-ages venue, is located at 17880 SW McEwan Road. Doors will open at 11:00 a.m.
The draft party will be hosted by Winterhawks broadcasters Andy Kemper and Todd Vrooman. The Rosebuds and Tom-a-Hawk will be in attendance, and fans can also have fun bowling and playing GameTime's arcade games. Fans can also enter to win Winterhawks prizes and memorabilia, including autographed Seth Jones items.
In addition to the party at GameTime, Dean Vrooman and John Kirby will be hosting an all-ages party at Kenton Station, located at 8303 N. Denver Ave. Other locations showing the draft include the Jolly Roger (21 and over, 1340 SE 12th Avenue), the Jolly at John's Landing (21 and over, 5627 SW Kelly Ave.), McGillacuddy's (21 and over, 11133 NE Halsey St.), and Sports Page (21 and over, 8590 SW Hall Blvd. in Beaverton).
Fans will be able to watch live coverage of the Draft to see where several highly-rated Winterhawks are selected. In the final rankings from NHL Central Scouting, Jones came in first among North American skaters, followed by Nic Petan at #33, Oliver Bjorkstrand at #36 and Brendan Burke #13 among North American goalies.
If Jones is selected first overall, he'd become the first Winterhawk in franchise history to be the top pick in the NHL Entry Draft. Jones will also give the Hawks at least one first round pick in the draft for the fourth consecutive year, joining Derrick Pouliot in 2012, Sven Bartschi and Joe Morrow in 2011 and Ryan Johansen and Nino Niederreiter in 2010.
