
Remaining Teams for Inaugural Guinness International Champions Cup Announced

During the broadcast of the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League Final earlier today, the eight clubs that will participate in this summer's Guinness International Champions Cup were officially revealed. The tournament, which will be played from July 27-August 7 in Phoenix, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, New York, Miami and one European city, will include the Galaxy as well as Chelsea, AC Milan, Valencia, Everton, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Juventus.
The eight teams featured in the tournament represent some of the world's largest and most successful clubs. Real Madrid is Spain's winningest club with a total of 32 league titles and nine European Championships. Likewise, the Galaxy are Major League Soccer's most successful club and have won the last two league titles. Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus together have on a total of 64 Serie A titles while Milan is tied for the most international cup trophies. Spain's Valencia has won six La Liga titles and reached a total of seven European tournament finals. Lastly, Chelsea has four English Premier League titles, including three since 2004 and seven FA Cup titles while Everton has lifted the FA Cup five times in its history.
FOX Soccer will televise 11 of the tournament's 12 matches live, including the championship on August 7 at 6 p.m. (PT). FOX Sports will also add to the coverage and broadcast a match live on Saturday August 3 at 5 p.m. (PT). In future years the tournament will be televised by FOX Sports 1, FSMG's newly minted national multi-sport cable channel launching in August.
Each of the eight teams in the tournament will play at least three games with the Galaxy scheduled to play one of their games in Los Angeles on August 3 or 4 against a yet to be determined opponent and at a yet to be determined location. Galaxy Season Ticket Holders will receive first access to tickets for this game.
