(Camden, N.J.mden, May 20, 2013) - The Long Island Ducks shutout the Camden Riversharks 10-0 on Monday night in the opening game of a four-game series at Campbell's Field.

Danny Perales led off the game with a home run to right field. Bryant Nelson hit a sacrifice fly to center, and Ramon Castro clubbed a home run to left field, as the Ducks took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Ducks added two more in the second inning, on a RBI groundout by Perales, and a Joash Brodin RBI single.

Long Island stretched the lead further in the third inning on RBI singles by Adam Bailey and Dan Lyons. The Ducks scored two more in the fifth, when P.J. Phillips lined a RBI single to center field, and Perales hit a sacrifice fly to left field. Long Island tacked one more on in the seventh on a Phillips RBI double to close the scoring.

John Brownell (2-3) earned the victory, tossing the first complete game shutout of the season for Long Island. He gave up just four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Camden starter Josh Walter (2-3) took the loss, surrendering eight hits and seven runs in two and two-thirds innings.

Phillips led the way with three hits, while Murray Watts, Castro, Bailey, and Lyons each recorded two.

The Ducks continue the four-game series against the Riversharks Tuesday morning.

Long Island returns home on Friday, May 24 when they host the Blue Crabs in the first game of a three-game set. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. It's "Don't Fry Day" with Skin Cancer Awareness, and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Duck Mini Bats, courtesy of Stony Brook Children's Hospital.
