RICHMOND, Va. - Jameson Taillon tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts on Sunday afternoon but a three-run sixth soured his outing and the Curve dropped the finale to Richmond, 3-0. Altoona had just two hits in the loss and did not have a baserunner after the fourth inning.

A scary moment occurred in the top of the fourth inning when Curve RF Alex Dickerson grounded a ball out to Squirrels first baseman Ricky Oropesa. The two both were in a foot race for the first-base bag when they collided at the base. Dickerson was ruled out but remained on the ground and an 18-minute injury delay on the field took place while trainers from both teams tended to Dickerson. He was eventually taken off the field in an ambulance as a precaution but did wave to the crowd as he was loaded in.

After testing at a local medical facility, Dickerson was diagnosed with a concussion and was discharged from the hospital after the game and accompanied the team to Reading.

Play did resume but the Curve offense would find just one hit the rest of the way and it came later in the fourth when Andrew Lambo doubled with two down. He was left on the bases when Jarek Cunningham grounded out to end the inning.

Taillon, with the help of Andy Vasquez, kept the Squirrels off the board in the fourth. Vasquez, who came in to the game to replace Dickerson, threw out Oropesa at the plate trying to score on a single to right by Ehire Adrianza in the bottom of the inning.

The game remained scoreless until the sixth when Mark Minicozzi, who drove in three of Richmond's runs on Saturday, homered off Taillon (2-5) to start the inning. After Taillon struck out reliever Fabio Castillo, Ryan Lollis and Adrianza both reached to put two on with one out. Catcher Mark Wagner followed and hit a double to the base of the wall in left that scored both runners and put Richmond squarely in front.

Kenn Kasparek and Quinton Miller both worked scoreless innings behind Taillon to finish out the game. Dickerson had the only other Curve hit on Sunday, doubling in his first at bat.

Done with the Flying Squirrels until next weekend, the Curve (19-24) now travel to Reading, Pa. to make their only visit to see the Reading Fightin Phils beginning at 6:35 p.m. Monday night at FirstEnergy Stadium. Getting the start the first day in for the Curve will be RHP Luis Sanz (2-1, 3.63), who won last time out vs. Trenton. He'll meet Fightins righty Seth Rosin (1-3, 3.95) in the series opener Monday night.

Airtime on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network is slated for 6:05 p.m. For tickets and information on the Curve's Memorial Day Weekend homestand that begins Friday, call 877.99.CURVE, visit AltoonaCurve.com or stop by the ticket windows at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
