
Skeeters Win a Wild One 2-1

The Skeeters won on a walk-off Sunday afternoon, 2-1 over the Bridgeport Bluefish. Matt Wright was dominant, throwing eight scoreless innings of two-hit ball, retiring the final 15 batters he faced. For the Bluefish, Michael Colla was equally as impressive, tossing six scoreless innings for Bridgeport. The Bluefish pushed across the go-ahead run in the ninth inning to make it 1-0. Then in the bottom of the ninth, thanks to four consecutive wild pitches and two walks, the Skeeters scored two runs to win it 2-1, their third walk-off win of the year.
Up Next: The Skeeters have a day off on Monday, but will then head up to York to take on the Revolution for the first three games, of a seven game road trip. The Skeeters will send out RHP Scott Elarton (2-2, 3.75 ERA) to face York RHP Corey Thurman (2-4, 3.71) in Tuesday's series opener.
