(Charleston, WV): The West Virginia Power defeated the Lexington Legends 3-1 Friday evening at Appalachian Power Park. Dilson Herrera collected four hits and Power pitchers combined to allow only two hits over the course of the game.

Lexington scored their only run in the first inning when Terrence Gore reached on a leadoff walk and later scored on an RBI groundout by Fred Ford. West Virginia responded in the bottom of the inning when Herrera hit his fourth home run this season.

The Power added another run in the sixth when Raul Fortunato hit an RBI single, scoring Eric Wood from third. West Virginia added their third and final run when Stetson Allie hit a two-out RBI single scoring Herrera.

Clay Holmes started for West Virginia and received a no-decision. The right-hander pitched five innings and allowed a run on one hit while striking out five. Bryton Trepagnier (1-2) earned the win by tossing two innings of one-hit ball in relief. Ali Williams (2-2) took the loss.

Herrera finished the game with four hits and has hit safely in the last seven games. The four-hit game was his second four-hit game this year and raised his average to .321, which now lies in the top ten in the South Atlantic League. The 19-year old was a triple shy of the style.

West Virginia and Lexington will play two games Saturday evening. Tyler Glasnow will pitch for the Power in game one against the Legends' Tyler Stumpf. Game two will begin 30-minutes after the conclusion of game one.
