Guelph Storm News Release
The Storm announced today that Andrey Pedan was named the team's Defenceman of the Year for the 2011-13 season. With 2011-12 Defenceman of the Year Matt Finn out of the line up for much of the season, Pedan stepped up as the Storm's `go to' defenceman. He led the team in ice time and played in all situations.
The New York Islanders' prospect led all Storm blueliners in scoring with 44 points (14 goals and 30 assists) and tied with Brock McGinn for second in powerplay goals with 9. During the Storm's first round series against the Kitchener Rangers, the 6.04 defender tied with Brock McGinn for the lead in team scoring and was arguably the best Storm player scoring 4 points, three goals and one assist.
Pedan joined the Islanders farm team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers after the Storm season and picked up two assists in 8 games.
