Pacifics Announce Radio Deal with Boomeranggg101

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - All 42 regular season home games and select preseason games of the 2013 San Rafael Pacifics, as well as the Pacific Association playoffs will air live on the newly launched Marin County-based internet radio station, Boomeranggg101 (www.bggg101.com).

"We are pleased to announce this exciting association with the San Rafael Pacifics," said David Winters, President of Baracuda Broadcasting, Boomeranggg's parent company. "With the launch of Boomeranggg 101 as a Marin-centric Web site we believe the partnership with the Pacifics will underscore our commitment to serving Marin's information, shopping services, and entertainment needs. We expect Boomeranggg will become a meeting place for all things Marin and all things Pacifics."

The Pacifics also announced today that Tiburon, Calif. native and longtime Bay Area sports journalist, announcer, and radio and television reporter Bruce Macgowan will handle the play-by-play duties for Pacifics games. For over 30 years, McGowan has held a preeminent place among Bay Area sports journalists. For 17 years he hosted KNBR talk shows "Sports Phone 680" and "The Insiders"; was a columnist for the San Francisco Examiner and Marin Independent Journal; and radio announcer for the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors.

"I'm honored to become the radio voice of the Pacifics. I can't think of a better way to convey my love for baseball and for my home here in Marin," said Macgowan. "When Pacifics President and GM Mike Shapiro contacted me with the idea I jumped at the chance to become a part of this really cool and fun addition to our community."

The team will be featured on a number of pre-season shows and in-season features including pre-game and post-game shows. Additionally, the Pacifics will participate in Boomeranggg's shopping program, offering discounted ticket packages and other special shopping options. The shopping experience is set to launch June 1.

With the launch of bggg101.com this week, fans may follow the Pacifics beginning with the team's exhibition at San Quentin State Prison on Saturday, May 18. The tape-delayed broadcast from the historic locale is set for 5:00 p.m.
