
Grizzlies Donate $159,143.60 to Charity in 2012-2013

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies donated $159,143.60 in cash, tickets and merchandise to over 200 non-profit groups during the 2012-2013 season.
The Grizzlies also made nearly 200 mascot appearances with Grizzbee over the season that included 54 appearances at local elementary schools for the assembly program "Hockey Is A Lot Like Life" as well as "Lunchtime With Grizzbee."
In addition, nearly 3,000 tickets were donated to local students via the elementary school visits or school choirs singing the Star Spangled Banner prior to home games.
The Grizzlies "Pink in the Rink" post-game jersey auction raised over $20,000 for breast cancer awareness on Saturday, February 16. The team's Angel's Hands Foundation night raised over $10,000 in a post-game jersey auction on October 27, 2012.
The Grizzlies and Maverik Center also donated more than 30 hours of ice time to the Utah Amateur Hockey Association for practice time, games and tournaments this past season.
This year's amount was nearly a $20,000 increase over last season's total of $141,333.77 donated to charity.
