Riders Add Local Products to Training Camp Roster

The Saskatchewan Roughriders today announced the addition of four Saskatchewan products to the 2013 training camp roster.

Drew Burko played his freshman season at the University of Saskatchewan in 2013 after redshirting the previous year. The six-foot-three quarterback played five games for the Huskies completing 96 passes for 1257 yards and ten touchdowns.

Andre Lalonde spent last season in the Prairie Football Conference with the Saskatoon Hilltops. The runningback played eight games finishing the season with 104 carries for 741 yards to sit third among league rushers. He also added five touchdowns.

Brett Pisio also spent last season with the Hilltops. The defensive lineman totaled 16 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles, 1.5 quarterback sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Mitch Thompson spent the 2013 season in the PFC with the Regina Thunder. Through eight regular season games the wide receiver totaled 569 yards on 40 receptions and added two touchdowns.

All four players are scheduled to be in Saskatoon when 2013 training camp kicks off on June 2nd at the University of Saskatchewan's Griffiths Stadium. Burko qualifies as part of the CFL non-import quarterback developmental program while Lalonde, Pisio and Thompson are territorial juniors and will not count against the maximum roster spots allotted for training camp.
