Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen fell 7-3 to the Edmonton Oil Kings Wednesday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Husky WHL Eastern Conference Championship series is now tied 2-2.
The visiting Oil Kings carried a 5-1 lead after the opening 20 minutes with a pair of goals from T.J. Foster and single tallies by Martin Gernat, Ashton Sautner and Travis Ewanyk. Calder Brooks netted Calgary's lone marker in the first period, capitalizing on a man advantage opportunity.
The Hitmen outscored the Oil Kings 2-1 in the middle stanza with a penalty shot marker by Brooks Macek and a goal from rookie Elliott Peterson. Dylan Wruck and Michael St. Croix also scored for Edmonton in the win.
Calgary goaltenders Chris Driedger and Mack Shields combined for 32 saves in the Game 4 setback.
The best-of-seven series continues with Game 5 on Friday, April 26 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, followed by Game 6 on Sunday, April 28, with a 4 p.m. puck drop at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
