Washington Wild Things News Release

Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, announced today that Alfonso Yevoli has been released from the Atlanta Braves Organization and will return to Washington for the 2013 season.

Yevoli was named the #5 prospect of Baseball America's Top 10 Independent League Prospects List for 2012. He posted a 1-2 record and a 2.62 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 34.1 innings of work for the Wild Things' bullpen during his professional debut with the Wild Things this past season.

"As an opponent, we hated to see Al trot out from the bull pen in the late innings. He carved up almost every opponent and he just put up filthy numbers last season," commented Wild Things' field manager Bart Zeller." We know he was disappointed to be released, but now our goal is to help him get back into Affiliated Baseball quickly. He will be a valuable asset in late innings for us."

Yevoli, a Palm Coast, Florida native, joined the Wild Things after completing his senior year at Tennessee Wesleyan College.

The Wild Things open their 2013 regular season on the road. The home opener is slated for Friday, May 24th. Game tickets go on sale Saturday, April 13th at 10 a.m. For further information, call the box office at CONSOL Energy Park at 724-250-9555.
