Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, Ind. - America is the "land of the free and the home of the brave"-some of whom are brave enough to sing the National Anthem live in front of thousands of fans at a RailCats game. In order to carry our nation's tune at a RailCats game, singers will first have to win the approval of the judges at the RailCats National Anthem auditions on Friday, April 5 or Saturday, April 6.
Tryouts will be held in the Diamond Club at U. S. Steel Yard and those trying out may do so on either April 5 from 3-6 p.m. or April 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Singers will perform a cappella and the RailCats are looking for performers who can sing either the "Star-Spangled Banner", "O Canada", or both anthems.
The judges will rival those from any reality TV show, although they may not be as famous. They will be looking to fill up to 40 spots to perform during RailCats home games. There is no need to sign up, singers are simply asked to arrive in person during the open audition times and only need to attend one of the days.
RailCats Opening Day will be on Thursday, May 16 against the Lincoln Saltdogs at U. S. Steel Yard.
