IceCaps Sign Josh Godfrey to PTO

The St. John's IceCaps announced today they have signed defenceman Josh Godfrey to a professional tryout contract.

Godfrey, 25, has played in 33 games with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL so far this season. In that time, the right-handed defenceman has recorded nine points (4G, 5A) and 23 penalty minutes. He has played in 60 career AHL games between Hershey, Chicago and Binghamton for 15 career points (2G, 13A) and 29 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the second round, 34th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
