Dax Jerseys Are Coming

February 19, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL) Adirondack Phantoms

It's Dax's birthday. And the Phantoms are ready to celebrate this Sunday at 5:00 against the Binghamton Senators.

For one game only, the team will switch out the Phantoms logo on their jersey for a picture of Dax instead. The special Dax jerseys will also be auctioned off to the fans after the game. Check out the jersey design for Dax's big day!

"This is a really rare thing in sports," said official spokesperson for Dax, Andrew Hill, who is also Director of Fun and Community Relations for the Phantoms. "You see other teams where their mascot IS their logo. But Dax is a beaver. He's not really a part of the logo at all. So to completely take away the team logo and put Dax's face on the jersey is something you don't see a lot and we're really excited."

Fans will get their chance to own a piece of Dax history in the post-game jersey auction. The game-worn jerseys will be awarded to the winning bidders and presented personally by the players right off their backs.

These specialty jerseys are another of the outrageous looks the Adirondack Phantoms have worn this season which have included Tuxedo Jerseys on New Year's Eve and Mustache Jerseys as part of their Movember promotion. But these are the first mascot jerseys they have ever worn as the team thanks Dax for all his hard-work and support and non-stop hilarity and weirdness at all of the Phantoms games.

Additionally, some of Dax's area mascot friends will be stopping by for the big celebration which include a mascot hockey game between periods of the Phantoms' game. And we are told that an even bigger birthday cake awaits Dax too.

Happy Birthday, Dax!

Fans can purchase special Sunday Family 3-Packs for $43 to receive 3 tickets, 3 hot dogs, 3 sodas, 1 large popcorn and 1 program. Call the Phantoms at 518-480-3355. And we'll see you there this Sunday to help wish Dax a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
