Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Portland Winterhawks will give fans the jerseys off their backs following the regular season finale on Sunday, March 17 when they host the Spokane Chiefs at the Rose Garden.
In a promotion sponsored by Oregon College Savings Plan, fans can purchase raffle tickets at winterhawks.com/jerseyraffle or at Winterhawks games for $10 apiece for a chance to win a spot on the ice after the game, where the winners will pick a player's name out of a hat and win their game-worn jersey.
There will also be a maximum of 10 "Golden Tickets" available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis that guarantee a spot on the ice and one of the jerseys.
All proceeds will go towards the Winterhawks Amateur Hockey Association's Player Education Fund, which provides funding for Winterhawks players who pursue post-secondary education following their Western Hockey League careers.
"This promotion is a great way for fans to help a great cause, while having the rare chance to win a player's game-worn jersey," said Winterhawks President Doug Piper. "With proceeds going to the Players' Education Fund, it's a perfect partnership with the Oregon College Savings Plan."
"We're excited to partner with the Portland Winterhawks to promote the Players' Education Fund, because it helps spread the message that it's never too late to pursue a post-secondary education," said Michael Parker, Executive Director of the Oregon College Savings Plan. "It's also never too early to start saving for that education, and one of the simplest ways is to start investing with Oregon's 529 savings plan."
Group ticket packages for the remainder of the regular season and 2013 WHL Playoffs are now available. Contact the Winterhawks today at 236-HAWK or email seats@winterhawks.com for details.
