Brachold, 30, batted .259 with 18 doubles, two triples, 29 home runs, 84 RBIs and 80 runs scored in 99 games for the Boulders last season. He led the Can-Am League in home runs, RBIs, runs scored, total bases (210) and extra-base hits (49). He also finished in the top five in the Can-Am League in games (99-2nd), intentional base on balls (3-Tie 2nd), slugging percentage (.538-4th), at bats (390-5th) and hit by pitches (9-5th). He was named to the Can-Am League All-Star Team following the season.
Brachold began his professional career in 2006 with the Brockton (MA) Rox of the Can-Am League after finishing his college career at Marist College (NY). In seven seasons, he has batted .282 with 124 doubles, 24 triples, 105 home runs, 455 RBIs and 461 runs scored in 624 games. Brachold has played with the Kalamazoo (MI) Kings of the Fontier League (2007), Amarillo Dillas of the United Baseball League (2008), Brockton (2006, 2009-11) and Rockland (2012).
Gaston batted .277 with 17 doubles, 12 home runs, 41 RBIs and 45 runs scored in 64 games for Fargo-Moorhead last season. He also spent time with the Birmingham Barons, the Chicago White Sox affiliate in the Southern League (AA). Fuqua was 2-1 with a 3.34 ERA and one save in 47 relief appearances for the RedHawks last season. Massingham was 0-0 with a 2.25 ERA in four games for Fargo-Moorhead in late August after being acquired from the Evansville (IN) Otters of the Frontier League.
"Brachold has put up solid numbers everywhere he has played and we hope he can continue to be an impact player for us this season," said RedHawks Manager Doug Simunic. "We gave up some very good players to acquire him, and think it will be a good deal for both clubs."
