Santa Cruz Warriors Swept by Stampede

BOISE, Ida. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Idaho Stampede 101-80 Sunday afternoon, closing out their seven-game road trip with two losses in Boise.

The Santa Cruz Warriors were paced by Taylor Griffin, who scored 13 points. Mickell Gladness grabbed a game-high 11 boards, while Edwin Ubiles chipped in with 12 points.

The Idaho Stampede were led by Durrell Summers and Carlon Brown, who each had a game-high 18 points. Justin Harper logged the only double-double of the night with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Santa Cruz and Idaho traded buckets early in the first quarter, but the Stampede took control in the closing minutes of the first frame and never looked back. The Warriors scored just 17 in the first quarter and 15 in the second, entering halftime with a 19-point deficit. Idaho led by as much as 32 in the second half and closed out the game by a 21-point margin.

Just like last night, the Warriors shot 36.0% from the field, while Idaho shot 39.1%. The Stampede won the rebound battle (56-52), but Santa Cruz held the edge on points in the paint (42-38) and fast break points (10-5).

The Warriors will be off for the All Star Break until Wednesday, February 20, when Santa Cruz takes on the Los Angeles D-Fenders at 7:00 p.m. PST at the Kaiser Permanente Arena. The Warriors will close out the season with 15 of their remaining 21 games at home.
