Rockford Resigns Hur; Adds Pair of Pitchers

Loves Park, Ill. - Rockford's professional baseball team has signed outfielder Michael Hur to a contract extension and signed pitchers Chuck Lukanen and Tim Tucker for the 2013 season.

Hur hit .298 last year and tied Manager Rich Austin's club record for home runs in a season with 15. The outfielder also collected 57 RBIs, 110 hits and 18 doubles.

Lukanen began his professional baseball career in Rockford in 2010 after finishing up his collegiate career at Northern Illinois University.

As a pitcher with Joliet in 2011, the left-hander won a Frontier League Championship and then pitched in the American Association last season for Gary and Sioux City.

In three professional seasons, Lukanen has compiled an ERA of 4.45 and has struck out more than eight batters per nine innings, mostly as a reliever.

Tucker joins the pitching staff as a first-year rookie after pitching collegiately at Southeastern Community College.

Rockford opens the the 2013 season Friday, May 17, at home against the Frontier Greys at 7:05 p.m.
