Clint Hurdle Headlines Annual Hot Stove Luncheon

INDIANAPOLIS -- Current Pittsburgh Pirates Manager and member of the Tribe's 1982 championship team, Clint Hurdle, will be featured as the keynote speaker of the Indianapolis Indians 2013 Hot Stove Luncheon, which will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31 at the JW Marriott Hotel.

Hurdle is entering his 11th season as a manager in the Major Leagues and his third at the helm of the Indianapolis Indians parent club, the Pittsburgh Pirates. The skipper owns a lifetime managerial record of 685-798 (.462) and finished third in National League Manager of the Year voting when his 2007 Colorado Rockies captured an NL Pennant. Since taking over the Bucs on Nov. 15, 2010, Hurdle has led Pittsburgh to its best record (79-83) in 15 years, as well as a new franchise mark with 45 wins at PNC Park.

A former No. 9 overall pick in the 1975 MLB Draft, Hurdle played 10 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Kansas City Royals (1977-81), Cincinnati Reds (1982), New York Mets (1983, 1985, 1987) and St. Louis Cardinals (1986). He spent the majority of the 1982 campaign with the Indianapolis Indians, where he batted .245 (64-for-261) with 12 home runs in 88 regular-season games, and also added a pair of homers in the American Association Championship Series to help the Tribe claim the American Association Title.

Also scheduled to appear at the 2013 Indians Hot Stove Luncheon is third-year manager Dean Treanor, who last season led the Tribe to their first International League West Division Championship since 2000 and first playoff appearance since 2005 with a Minor League best 89 wins.
