KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the re-signing of pitcher Devin Anderson and the signing of rookie pitcher Brian Murphy.

Anderson, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound left hander from Ocoee, Fla., has spent the last two seasons with the T-Bones. He began his professional career in 2003 in the Atlanta Braves organization.

After going 7-8 with a 5.24 ERA in 2011, Anderson went 7-6 last season with a 3.36 ERA. He struck out 70 and walked 28. He went at least seven innings in six of his 19 starts. Late in the season, Anderson missed one start due to an injury. It was his first missed start in a T-Bones uniform.

"The most impressive and important thing to me is that Devin is durable, and has missed only one start," said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. "The win total isn't where he wants it, but when he's on the mound, we are competitive, which is all you can ask as a manager. He's a lefty sinker-ball pitcher with great stuff. Besides that, Devin is great in the clubhouse, loves this organization and really wants to work hard to win a championship for Kansas City."

Murphy, 29, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound rookie right hander from Oklahoma City, Okla., spent last season with McAllen (Texas) of the North American Baseball League, where he went 5-7 with a 2.99 ERA. He struck out 63 and walked 35 in 108 1/3 innings. His manager at McAllen was long-time T-Bones manager Al Gallagher.

"Murphy has a fastball in the 90s and he has versatility as someone who can start or come out of the bullpen," Hook said. "He came highly recommended from (Gallagher). Since Al is a great baseball guy with a soft spot for the T-Bones, and is someone who understands what we're trying to do here, that recommendation says a lot about Murphy."
