Condors Raise $13,650 with Varner Jersey, Kids in Free Tonight

JAKE VARNER JERSEY AUCTION BRINGS IN $13,650 & COUNTING:

Saturday night, the Condors donned wrestling themed jerseys in honor of hometown Olympic Gold Medalist, Jake Varner. Following the game, the jerseys were auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting the League of Dreams, an adaptive sports league for children with disabilities.

In addition, a special Kushneriuk jersey was auctioned for $5,000 and the proceeds of that single jersey will benefit Condors F Chris Kushneriuk who is currently undergoing aggressive treatment for testicular cancer. In total, $13,650 was raised and there is still more to come as two of the speciality jerseys (Scott Greenham and Liam Huculak) will be put up for bid online later this week.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2: CONDORS HOME GAME - KIDS IN FREE NIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors kick-off 2013 with a game against the Idaho Steelheads on Dignity Health home ice. And for all the parents wondering what to do with their kids on school break - bring them down for Kids In Free Night! Sponsored by My 45 & 101.5 KGFM, kids 14 and under get in free with the purchase of at least 1 adult ticket. So load up the suburban and come down to the box office as tickets must be purchased in person, today only.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 3:

Tune in to the Condors Insider for interviews with the players and coaches from 6-7 p.m. Hosted by Condors broadcast duo Kevin Bartl and Ryan Holt, Condors Insider can be heard on Fox Sports Radio 970 AM and the iheartradio app.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 8:

A Condors player as well as Assistant Coach Kevin Barrett will appear on Do The Math, a broadcast and call-in math tutoring show for grades 4-12. Do The Math can be seen every Tuesday and Wednesday during the school year from 4-5 p.m. on Bright House Networks Channel 15, Charter Cable Channels 49 and 19 and Media Com Channel 3.

HOCKEY-THON REGISTRATION NOW OPEN:

The 9th Annual Bakersfield Hockey-Thon will take place

March 23-24, 2013. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate and help raise funds for Links for Life, a local breast cancer resource center.
