
Forwards Knight and Randell Assigned to Stingrays

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forwards Jared Knight and Tyler Randell have been assigned to the team from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Knight, 20, appeared in two games with the Bruins (AHL) this season adding no points. The Battle Creek, Michigan, native is currently in his first professional season after spending the last four campaigns with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. In 250 games with the Knights, the second-round draft pick of the Bruins (32nd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft totaled 209 points (102 goals, 107 assists) and helped the team capture the OHL championship in 2012.
In one contest with the Bruins (AHL) this season, Randell, 21, recorded no points. A Scarborough, Ontario, product, Randell dressed in 19 games with the Stingrays earlier this season grabbing two goals and an assist for three points and 36 penalty minutes. He is a sixth-round selection (176th overall) by the Bruins in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The Stingrays are on the road Friday, January 4 and Saturday, January 5 against the Gwinnett Gladiators and Greenville Road Warriors at 7:35 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. before returning home on Sunday, January 6 to face the Everblades at 3:05 p.m. on Kid's Day at the North Charleston Coliseum.
