
Evans' Massive Double-Double Not Enough in Loss

BAKERSFIELD, California, December 19, 2012 - Sean Evans racked up 34 points (14-24 FG) and 22 rebounds (8 off.), but it wasn't enough as the Idaho Stampede lost to the Bakersfield Jam 120-104. Evans' 22 rebounds represent a league-high this year while his 34 points makes for the third-highest this season (36: Fortson, Los Angeles vs. Reno 12/15/12; 25: Goudelock, Sioux Falls vs. Austin 12/15/12). It was Evans' fourth double-double of the year for Idaho (1-8).
Three-point shooting again failed the Stampede as they made 4-of-18 (22.2 percent) - through their prior eight games, Idaho shot 28.2 percent from the three-point line. The Stampede committed 23 turnovers and allowed eight Jam (7-4) players to reach double-figures in scoring. Renaldo Major led the way for Bakersfield with 23 points, while Jerel McNeal added 18 and Stephen Dennis had 15 off the bench. Kendall Marshall, on assignment from the Phoenix Suns, had 10 points and nine assists for the Jam.
Durrell Summers had 14 points for Idaho, while Seth Tarver had 15 off the bench. Jai Lucas added 12 and Justin Harper had 11 as subs. Idaho will play Bakersfield again tomorrow night at 8 p.m. (MST) before playing in Los Angeles on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (MST). The Stampede are hosting an away game watch party for the game against L.A. at the Sports Page Bar at the Boise Hotel and Convention Center.
