
Balanced Attack Gives Jam Victory over Stampede

BAKERSFIELD, December 19, 2012 - The Bakersfield Jam (7-4) came out victorious Wednesday night at the Dignity Health Event Center with a 120-104 win over the Idaho Stampede (1-8). A well balanced attacked helped the Jam earn their seventh win of the season as eight players, including all five starters, scored in double figures.
Bakersfield shot 39.1% from the field in the first quarter, causing them to fall behind 30-24 at the end of one period of play. The Jam gathered together and put a better effort and execution in the second quarter as they outscored the Stampede 39-29 in the quarter. Renaldo Major scored 14 of his 23 points in that second quarter, helping the Jam turn a 14 point deficit into a four point lead at halftime (63-59). Bakersfield maintained their momentum and lead as they never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter.
All five starters for the Jam scored in double figures with Major leading the way with 23 points and three steals. Brian Butch had 13 points and nine rebounds, Koch recorded 12 points and nine rebounds, Damion James tallied 10 points and Kendall Marshall (Phoenix Suns Assignee) scored 10 points and dished out nine assists. Jerel McNeal led the bench with 18 points and eight assists, Stephen Dennis scored 15 points and Isma'il Muhammad contributed 11 points and nine rebounds on the victory.
Sean Evans led the Stampede with a double-double of game-high 34 points and 22 rebounds. Seth Tarver scored 15 points while Durrell Summers tallied 14 points.
Both teams will go back at it again tomorrow Thursday, December 20 at 7pm PT at the Dignity Health Event Center.
