Oliver Cooper had a great chance with a wraparound attempt after Marcus Cuomo battled for the puck in the corner and found an open Cooper waiting for the puck.

Saint John opened the scoring on a scrum in front, with Tesink pushing the puck over the line at the five-minute mark of the first, for his 16th of the season. Gagne and Stephen MacAulay also made contact with the puck in the scrum, notching the assists on the play.

Auger made a stop on Andrew O'Brien, but veteran Gagne really saved the play as the puck had just squirted through Auger and lay in the crease before being cleared to the corner by the defenceman.

The Sea Dogs took a 2-0 lead at 13:45 as Gagne and Tesink made a nifty give-and-go play to get some open ice, allowing Gagne to beat Gusse with a deflected wrist shot. Sea Dogs rookie Steven Duda also added an assist on the play.

Rouyn pulled back within a goal on the man advantage. The Swiss-born Andrighetto beat Auger at 15:19.

Huberdeau restored the Sea Dogs two goal lead with a highlight reel goal perfectly set up by Tesink and Gagne. Huberdeau carried the puck out of the Sea Dogs zone and found Tesink streaking into the offensive zone. Tesink and Gagne made another give-and-go play, this time finding Huberdeau with a cross-crease pass to tap in his 14th of the year just 40 seconds into the second.

Auger made a great save on Andrighetto late in the second as the Sea Dogs were a man down. Andrighetto had a great one-time chance, but Auger stuck out the left pad to make the save.

Anderson made it 4-1 just 1:51 of the final frame with his second of the year. Huberdeau added an assist for his second point of the game, and only one point away from trying the all-time record.

The goal triggered a goaltending change as the rookie backstop Belanger came into the game.

Gagne made it 5-1, potting his second of the game after cutting towards the net on the power play and rifling a snap shot past the glove hand of Belanger. Huberdeau notched the lone assist on the play, bringing him even with Kirkpatrick's record for career points by a Sea Dog.

Auger pulled his weight to keep the Dogs in firm control of the game with several huge saves in the second half of the third, including two post-to-post saves, robbing Huskies leading goal scorer Jean-Sebastien Dea on the second.

The road trip continues Wednesday night with a tilt against the Val d'Or Foreurs, also at 8:30 p.m. Atlantic.
