Mississauga, ON - Former Major League Baseball (MLB) catcher and Sportsnet baseball analyst Gregg Zaun, will look to bring his skills to a new venue this Saturday, as he joins the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League for their weekend practice. The California native played sixteen seasons in the Majors, which included four great years with the Blue Jays from 2004-2008. With Toronto now being his year round home, Gregg is looking to get to know and play the game we all love.
On Saturday December 1st, Gregg will suit up at noon on rink 2, accessed through gate C at the Hershey Centre to work out with the team and make his goaltending debut. "The Mississauga Steelheads organization has been gracious enough to invite me out to the Hershey Centre for a little head to head action in an attempt to continue my goaltending education ", said Zaun.
Steelheads General Manager and Head Coach James Boyd is eager to see what Zaun will bring to the table. "Our young players are excited to test the legendary glove hand of Gregg Zaun".
