Bulls Comeback Halted by Utah in 5-3 Loss

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls mounted a third-period charge, but came up just short in a 5-3 loss against the Utah Grizzlies, Saturday night at the Cow Palace. Marek Viedensky and Jordan Clendenning scored less than six minutes apart early in the third period, but Utah goaltender Grant Rollheiser shut the door to earn his first professional win.
Riley Armstrong made it 1-0 Utah with 8:47 remaining in the first period on the power play. Kris Belan tied the game at one, 3:05 later. Bryan Cameron put Utah up 2-1 with 3:43 remaining in the first period. The Bulls trailed after 20 minutes but out-shot the Grizzlies 40-28.
In the second period, the Grizzlies added to their lead. Cameron made it 3-1 with his second of the game at 1:43. Evan Vosser then scored his first of the season with 7:14 remaining in the middle frame for a 4-1 game.
Viedensky scored on a wrist shot at 2:43 of the third period to cut it to a 4-2 game. At 7:39, Clendenning received a nice feed from Justin Bowers to make it a one-goal game. Kory Falite added an insurance goal in the final two minutes for a 5-3 final.
The Bulls complete their three-in-three weekend tomorrow at 2:15 pm against Utah. Following the game, kids 12 and under can take to the Cow Palace ice to shoot on the Bulls goal. Call up the Bulls office at 855-SF-BULLS to get your tickets.
Bulletins: Marek Viedensky has three points in his first two games with the Bulls...Dean Ouellet has five points in his last five games...Thomas Heemskerk was pulled shortly after the fourth Grizzlies goal...The Bulls out-shot their opponent for the second consecutive game: 40-28. It was the highest shot total for the Bulls this season.
