Weekly Update: Rapids Break Camp this Friday After Final Week of Training

RAPIDS IN FINAL WEEK OF TRAINING BEFORE BREAKING FOR OFFSEASON: The Colorado Rapids will train this week at Dick's Sporting Goods Park before the breaking for the offseason, with a final training session on Friday morning. Before the players are released until the 2013 preseason, each will meet with the technical staff to review the season and talk about their status for 2013. PATRICK SLOGIC LEADS CORNELL TO FIRST OUTRIGHT IVY LEAGUE TITLE SINCE 1977, NCAA BERTH: Rapids Academy defender Patrick Slogic and the Cornell Big Red captured a 1-0 victory over Columbia on Nov. 9, earning their first outright Ivy League title since 1977 and just the fourth title in program history. With their seventh shutout victory of the season, in which Slogic played all 90 minutes, Cornell also earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will host Syracuse in a first round match this Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

RAPIDS ACADEMY U-16 AND U-18 TEAMS FACE SOLAR CHELSEA SC ON SATURDAY AT HOME: The Colorado Rapids U-18 and U-16 teams in the Development Academy will take on Solar Chelsea SC of Dallas this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in their last home match before the 2012-13 season's winter break. The squads will play two more road matches before breaking until March to resume the Development Academy season. RAPIDS FRONT OFFICE STAFF MUSTACHES UNDERWAY: Several individuals of the Colorado Rapids Front Office have taken the pledge to participate in Movember and are nearly two weeks into the month long mustache-growing movement designed to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. Among the staffers participating are club President Tim Hinchey, Chief Revenue Officer David Burke, and Director of Media Relations David Lindholm.
