Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Southern Professional Hockey League today announced the Knoxville Ice Bears have partnered with the NHL's Nashville Predators to host an SPHL preseason game at Bridgestone Arena at 7:00pm on Saturday, October 20.
The game, against the Huntsville Havoc, is a special event for Predators season ticket holders. In addition, the Predators will be offering free admission to all current Knoxville and Huntsville season ticket holders who wish to attend the game. All Havoc season ticket holders can come by the Havoc office starting on Monday, October 15 to pick up their voucher for the game.
The Havoc will also be trying to put a bus or busses together for fans to travel up to the game. That information should be finalized by next Monday as well.
"On behalf of the SPHL, I would like to thank the Nashville Predators for extending the invitation to Knoxville and Huntsville to play for their season ticket holders, as well as inviting the loyal season ticket holders from both teams," said SPHL President Jim Combs. "I would especially like to recognize Ice Bears President Mike Murray, who has worked diligently behind the scenes to make this game happen. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our players to play in an NHL setting."
The Havoc will have to adjust their preseason schedule to make room for the game. They will now host the Ice Bears on Friday, October 19 at 7:30pm instead of the Mississippi RiverKings. The Havoc will finish the weekend with a Sunday, October 21 battle with the RiverKings in Southaven, Mississippi at 3:05pm.
Bridgestone Arena, which seats 17,113 for hockey, has been the home of the Nashville Predators since 1998.
