GRAND OPENING
Saturday's game against Rockford marks the sixth time in the Wolves 19-year history, and just the second time in the last nine years, the team has opened the season at home. The Wolves have posted an 8-5-2-3 mark in regular-season openers, which includes a 3-1-1-0 mark at the Allstate Arena.

--- JORDAN SCHROEDER: Shared second on the Wolves with a career-best 21 goals and ranked third with a career-high 44 points while appearing in all 76 games last season ... Ranked fourth on the club with 23 assists and five power-play strikes ... Accrued 2 points (G, A) in five Calder Cup postseason contests
--- EDDIE LACK: Amassed a 21-20-3 record, 2.31 goals-against average, and .925 save percentage in 46 games with the Wolves last year ... Ranked seventh in the AHL with a .925 saver percentage and ninth in the league with a 2.31 goals-against average ... Collected four shutouts last year, the most by a Wolves goaltender since 2004-05 ... Notched a 2-2 record, 2.17 goals-against average, and .917 save percentage in five Calder Cup playoff contests
--- CHRIS TANEV: Split last season between the Wolves and the NHL's Vancouver Canucks ... Skated in 25 games with Vancouver, collecting 2 assists ... Appeared in five Stanley Cup playoff tilts with the Canucks ... Ranked third among Wolves blueliners with 14 assists and fourth with 14 points in 34 contests with Chicago ... Paced Chicago defensemen with a +12 plus/minus rating and collected a plus or even rating in 29 of his 34 tilts
--- DARREN HAYDAR: Paced the Wolves with 36 assists and ranked second with 57 points in 70 games last season ... Served as the Western Conference captain for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic ... Became the 22nd player in AHL history to record 700 career points and became the fourth player in Chicago history to tally 300 career points and 100 career goals last year ... Ranked first on the team with four goals and eight points in five Calder Cup playoff tilts
--- ANDREW EBBETT: Skated in 18 NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks last season, collecting 5 goals and 6 points ... Appeared in one Stanley Cup playoff game with the Canucks last year ... Amassed 24 goals, 34 assists, and 58 points in 163 career NHL outings with Anaheim, Chicago, Minnesota, Phoenix, and Vancouver spanning five seasons (2007-12) ... Posted 65 goals, 139 assists, and 204 points in 210 career AHL contests with Binghamton (2006-07), Portland (2007-08), Iowa (2008-09), and San Antonio (2010-11)
--- ZACK KASSIAN: Tallied 10 points (4G, 6A) and 51 penalty minutes in 44 NHL games with Vancouver and Buffalo as a rookie last year ... Bagged 15 goals and 26 points in 30 AHL tilts with the Rochester Americans ... WOLF TRACKS
--- Head Coach SCOTT ARNIEL makes his Wolves coaching debut on Saturday after being named the ninth head coach in Wolves history on June 25, 2012; the 50-year-old most recently served as head coach of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, where he posted a 45-60-18 record in 123 games; the Kingston, Ontario, native also spent four years as an AHL head coach with the Manitoba Moose, where he compiled a 181-106-16-17 record in 320 games from 2006-10 and was awarded the 2009 Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award as the league's coach of the year after appearing in the Calder Cup Finals that season.
--- Chicago claimed its sixth division title last year when it won the Midwest Division with a 42-27-4-3 mark (91 points).
--- The Wolves finished the 2012 Calder Cup playoffs with a 2-3 record in the franchise's 15th trip to the postseason in 18 years before being eliminated by San Antonio in the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
--- Chicago set a franchise record for goals-against last season by surrendering 193 markers in 76 games last year; the Wolves ranked fifth in the AHL with a 2.54 goals-against average last year.
--- The Wolves were perfect on the penalty kill 43 times last season and posted a 25-13-3-2 mark when not allowing a power-play goal; Chicago ranked sixth in the league with an 84.2 efficiency rating on the penalty kill (235 of 279), which was the seventh-highest kill rate in franchise history.

--- Left wing BRETT STERLING returns to the Wolves after a two-year hiatus and ranks third on Chicago's all-time goal register with 143 markers and sixth on the franchise's all-time points list with 263 points in 254 regular-season outings with the Wolves from 2006-10.

--- Wolves center JORDAN SCHROEDER scored twice in the second period to lift the team to a 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Admirals at the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Kern Center
--- Defenseman MARK MATHESON also scored for the Wolves
--- Goaltender EDDIE LACK kicked out 29 of 30 shots in picking up the win
Friday, Oct. 5

--- The Peoria Rivermen broke a 2-2 deadlock with two third-period goals to skate away with a 4-2 win over the Wolves at the Triphahn Community Center and Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates
--- Left wing BILL SWEATT bagged both goals for Chicago
--- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE stopped 31 shots
Wednesday, Oct. 3

--- The Wolves found the net four times in the first period and cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Rockford IceHogs at West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows
--- Defensemen PATRICK MULLEN (G, 2A) and DEREK JOSLIN (2A) each recorded multiple-point efforts to pace Chicago's offense
--- Goaltenders EDDIE LACK (9-9) and MATT CLIMIE (13-14) split time in LACK's win
Monday, Oct. 1

--- The Wolves and Peoria Rivermen each bagged a goal in the first period, but neither dented the net again until the shootout as the Rivermen skated away with a 2-1 victory at Carver Arena
--- Defenseman MATT McCREADY scored in regulation for Chicago
--- Goaltender JOE CANNATA posted 10 saves on 11 shots before giving way to MATHIEU CORBEIL, who stopped 11 shots as well as four of six shootout attempts
