WORCESTER, MA - Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd has announced today the special events surrounding the Worcester Sharks 2012-13 season home opener at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, October 20 at 7:00p.m. vs. the Albany Devils as the Sharks kick-off their 7th season of hockey in Worcester.
The festivities for the Sharks "Fire and Ice" home opener kicks off at 6pm with a party on the DCU Center plaza with three large Shark themed ice sculptures and fire performers. Enjoy a live performance by the McCoy's Action Karate group in the lobby before the game.
Everyone in attendance will receive a Worcester Sharks magnet schedule and will be entered to win a chance to be the Sharks honorary 1,000,000th fan at a game later in October.
The Worcester Junior Sharks will be on ice to welcome the Worcester Sharks players with a pyrotechnics display during the opening night introductions. This will be your first chance to see the Sharks new home jerseys for the 2012-13 season!
The puck is set to drop at 7:00p.m. against Marlborough's Bobby Butler and the Albany Devils, and it will be your first opportunity to see the entire Worcester Sharks hockey team and welcome back Brandon Mashinter, Alex Stalock, John McCarthy, Nick Petrecki, Danny Groulx, and many others!
