Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has signed forward Brad Mills.
Mills has spent the first five years of his professional career with the New Jersey Devils organization, tallying 31 games with New Jersey and 252 games with their American Hockey League affiliates in Albany and Lowell.
The product of Yale University made his NHL debut on October 30, 2010 at Los Angeles and scored his first NHL goal on November 3, 2010 against Marty Turco and the then reigning Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks.
In 252 AHL games, the 29-year-old has logged 39 goals and 51 assists for 90 points and 415 penalty minutes. He had nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 27 games during his only ECHL tour with Trenton in 2006-2007. He also had 67 penalty minutes.
"Brad is a huge last second addition to our team," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "The opportunity to add a player, who has logged time in the NHL the last two seasons and is also a veteran of the AHL is a special circumstance."
The Grizzlies continue training camp daily at 10:30 a.m. through Friday at the Utah Olympic Oval before playing two preseason games against Idaho Friday in Logan and Saturday in Boise.
Ticket packages for the 2012-2013 season are on sale now at the Utah Grizzlies offices at Maverik Center or by calling (801) 988-PUCK. Visit utahgrizzlies.com for more information. The Grizzlies home opener is Saturday, October 13 against Idaho.
