
Green Named CFL Offensive Player of the Week

Montreal, August 29, 2012 - Alouettes slotback S.J. Green has been named the CFL's Offensive player of the week following his huge performance in Montreal's dramatic come-from-behind 31-29 win over Hamilton at Percival Molson Stadium last Thursday.
Green caught a game-high 10 catches for a career-best 168 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Green's TD grab moved his quarterback Anthony Calvillo into sole possession of second-place on pro football's all-time touchdown pass list.
At the midseason point, Green is now the CFL's leading receiver with 737 yards on 45 receptions. Over the past two weeks alone, the 27-year-old Tampa native has amassed over 300 yards and 20 receptions. Green now has four 100-yard performance on the season and is on pace for his second consecutive 1,000-yard campaign.
This is the first time in his six-year career that the 2011 East Division All-Star receives such an honour.

The Alouettes will host the BC Lions on Friday in a battle of first place teams in the CFL at Percival Molson Stadium at 7:30 p.m. (TSN, RDS, NBC Sports, CJAD 800, Sirius 157 & 154 and 98,5 fm). Both teams are on a roll as the defending Grey Cup champion Lions have won five straight while the Alouettes won their last four games.
