New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. - In his first series with the Fisher Cats since 2006, rehabbing Blue Jays outfielder Adam Lind continued to blaze a trail back to the big leagues on Saturday night against the New Britain Rock Cats. The first baseman slugged a lead-off home run and reached base three times in the Fisher Cats' (57-76) 4-2 victory. It's the team's third straight win in the series and gives them the chance at a sweep in the finale on Sunday afternoon.

Lind entered his third rehab game with four hits since joining the team on Friday night. Leading off and playing first base in the first inning, he blasted a pitch from starter B.J. Hermsen (10-6) over the right field wall for his 20th career Fisher Cats home run and an early 1-0 lead.

Leading 2-0 in the third, Lind added another single before factoring into the Fisher Cats two-run fifth. After a double by Koby Clemens, Lind drew a one-out walk to put runners at first and second. A single compounded by an error scored New Hampshire's third run before a Ryan Goins sacrifice fly made it a 4-1 game.

Joel Carreno (2-4) earned the win in relief for the Fisher Cats, tossing two shutout innings in relief of Sean Nolin. Nolin lasted just four innings in his home debut, but gave up just one unearned run. John Stilson (two innings, one run) and Trystan Magnuson (Save, 5) closed the door to set up the opportunity for the sweep on Sunday.

Lind had two of the Fisher Cats hits, reaching base in all three plate appearances while scoring two runs. Brian Van Kirk had a pair of singles to give him six hits in the last two games.

The teams now meet up for the final game of the set on Sunday afternoon at 1:35 PM. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Fisher Cats fleece blanket courtesy of Northeast Delta Dental. It's a Hood Kids Club Sunday where all Kids Club members receive free admission. Sunday is a Northeast Delta Dental Oral Health Challenge game and all kids can run the bases after the game courtesy of the Buyers Beware program.
