
Zephyrs Get Blanked in Duke City

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - Albuquerque starter Derrick Loop pitched six and two third innings allowing no runs on three hits and earned his eleventh win of the season defeating the Zephyrs 6-0 in front of 9,255 at Isotopes Park. The Isotopes take a four game lead with 15 games remaining.
The Isotopes offense jumped on New Orleans starter Brad Hand in the first inning. Josh Fields drilled a one out solo home run to centerfield. The Topes followed with a walk and a single and Scott Van Slyke three run home run.
The Isotopes added runs in the third and the fourth inning to extend their lead to 6-0. Z's starter Brad Hand allowed 6 runs on seven hits and four walks in 4 innings to take the loss.
The Isotopes bullpen of Scott Rice and Erick Threets put the finishing touches on the shutout. The Topes eighth of the season. The Z's have been shutout 10 times this season.
Albuquerque has won the first two games of this critical series with playoff implications.
Game Notes - The Z's lead the PCL with 11 shutouts pitched and also tied for the lead league being shut-out 10 times. The Zephyrs have dropped 29 of their last 36 games in Albuquerque. The Zephyrs are 3-3 in this stretch of 13 consecutive games of playing a first place team. Z's infielder Chase Lambin six game hit streak was snapped.
