Dragons Announce Multiple Roster Changes

DAYTON, OHIO -The Dayton Dragons announced the following additional roster changes today:
Right-handed pitcher Ismael Guillon has been promoted to Dayton from Billings.
Right-handed pitcher Radhames Quezada has been activated from the disabled list.
Right-handed pitcher Jimmy Moran has been assigned to Dayton from Bakersfield.
Right-handed pitchers Carlos Contreras and Stalin Gerson have been promoted to Bakersfield (California League).
Right-handed pitcher Cole Green has been placed on the disabled list (right shoulder).
The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.
Guillon currently ranks second in the Pioneer League in both earned run average (2.29) and strikeouts (63). He posted a record of 4-1 with Billings in 10 starts. Guillon was the July "Pitcher of the Month" for the entire Reds organization, going 3-0 with a 1.16 ERA in five starts. In his final start with Billings on Monday, he threw six scoreless innings and struck out 10, allowing just three hits and one walk. Guillon is known for his outstanding change-up that was selected as the best in the Reds farm system by Baseball America prior to the 2011 season. Guillon is a 20-year-old native of Venezuela.
Quezada has been with the Dragons throughout the 2012 season. In 18 starts, he is 5-7 with a 3.30 ERA. He went on the disabled list with shoulder soreness on July 26.
Moran returns to the Dragons after spending the first two months of the season in Dayton. He appeared in 18 games with Billings, going 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA and three saves. He made one appearance with Bakersfield, tossing one perfect inning. Moran made 18 appearances with the Dragons in April and May, going 1-2 with a 6.66 ERA.
Contreras made 40 relief appearances for the Dragons this season, recording 16 saves (fourth highest single-season total in franchise history). He posted a record of 0-1 with a 3.20 earned run average. Contreras limited opposing batters to a combined average of .158, best among all Midwest League relievers.
Gerson made 24 starts for the Dragons, going 6-8 with a 3.76 earned run average. Gerson, who also pitched for the Dragons in 2011, ranks third on the Dragons career list in innings pitched with 200.1 and tied for fifth in career starts with 36.
Green has appeared in 19 games for the Dragons, going 1-0 with an ERA of 8.68.
The Dragons host the Lake County Captains tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Field in the first game of a three-game series.
